Black Spring
Lightbox Art Show
In response to the impact of the pandemic, Xin Taitong Paradise centers its theme on Faith, highlighting Animism and life philosophy. In resonance with this, Black Spring paintings transform into lightboxes—illuminating life’s questions and inviting deeper exploration.

Black Spring tells the story of a tiny human being who breaks free from the constraints of the world she was bound to by consoling her shadow and rising beyond it.
This is a self-created story woven with old and new symbols that are both personal and universal.
This series started as paintings and then transformed into lightbox installations for its first showcase in Taipei in 2021.
Later, mosswater expanded the series into a deck of oracle cards. Tarot cards were a major source of inspiration for this body of work, thus this pivot felt natural. It seems the paintings were always meant to be shuffled by hands.
